Atlas Collector privacy policy
The Atlas Collector is a free browser extension that helps build the Binxonia Atlas, a fan-made field guide to the game Binxonia. This page explains what it collects and where that goes.
Last updated 14 October 2026
In short
The extension only looks at the game world: monsters, places, rooms, item drops and quest text. It never collects anything about you or other players, and it only sends things the Atlas does not already have, for a person to review before they appear on the Atlas.
What it collects
While you play on play.binxonia.com, the extension listens to the world data the game already sends to your browser, and keeps only parts the public Atlas does not have yet:
Game world data
- Monsters: their kind, level, and where in the game world they appear
- Resources such as rocks, trees, plants and fishing spots, and where they are
- The layout of rooms and dungeons (floors, walls and objects in them)
- Which items a monster dropped when you looted it
- Quest text (names, descriptions and dialogue written by the game)
Each submission also carries a random contributor code made by the extension (it is not linked to you or your account), the extension's version, and the time of each find.
What it never collects
- Your character's name, position, stats, inventory or equipment
- Other players (names, positions or anything else about them)
- Chat, private messages, trades, guild or friends lists
- Your Binxonia account, login, email or password
- Anything from other websites, or your browsing history
The extension never acts in the game: it does not click, move, send messages or change anything you do.
Optional modules
Modules are extra parts of the extension that stay off until you turn them on in its Modules window. They only change what you see; like the rest of the extension, they never act in the game.
Monster panel
- Redraws the game's Selected panel when you select a monster, using what the game already shows there.
- To show your hits on that monster and your chance to hit it, it reads the results of your own attacks that the game sends to your browser (hit or miss, damage, and the chance to hit). These are kept only in the open game tab while you play, and are never stored or sent anywhere.
- It downloads monster and item pictures and drop information from the Atlas website. Nothing about you is sent with those requests.
Gathering modules (Mining, Woodcutting, Herblore, Fishing, Shearing)
- While you gather, they show a panel in the game's empty Selected tab (your chance, how much each success gives, your tool compared with others, your session and your gems) and put labels over the rocks, trees, plants, fishing spots and sheep around you.
- To do that they read what the game sends to your browser about your own gathering: what you gather and its result, gems you find while gathering, your skill levels, and the tool and rings you wear. To place the labels they read the game's own camera and its list of what is around you, inside the open game tab.
- All of this stays in the open game tab. Only your history of gems found while gathering is kept, in the extension's own storage in your browser, so the gems chart survives a restart. None of it is ever sent anywhere.
- They download item pictures from the Atlas website. Nothing about you is sent with those requests.
How it works
- The extension reads the public Atlas data from this website to know what is already recorded, and checks every 30 minutes whether the Atlas has been updated.
- New finds are kept in your browser until they are sent, every 10 minutes (or when you press "Send now"). You can turn automatic sending off in the extension's popup.
- Finds are sent over HTTPS to a small relay service hosted on Cloudflare, which files them in a public GitHub repository for review: GhibliGuy/Atlas-contributions.
- The Atlas maintainer reviews each submission. Accepted finds become part of the public Atlas; rejected ones are not used.
Who can see it
Everything that is sent is game world data that is meant to be public on the Atlas. Submissions are stored in the public GitHub repository above, where anyone can see them. Nothing is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for anything other than building the Atlas.
When the extension sends finds, the relay service necessarily receives your IP address as part of the connection. The relay uses it only for a short-term limit on how often one address can send, does not store it with your finds, and does not log it on purpose; Cloudflare, which hosts the relay, may keep standard request logs for a short time under its own privacy policy.
The extension uses no cookies, analytics, ads or tracking of any kind.
Your choices
- Turn off "Send new finds automatically" in the popup to stop sending; you can still send by hand, or never.
- Removing the extension deletes everything it keeps in your browser.
- If you want a submission removed from the review repository, open an issue on the Atlas's GitHub page with the date you sent it.
